Children with cerebral palsy do not have a good muscle control so have stiff and awkward movements when compared to normal children who have a good control over their movements. The physician will assess the condition and determine the severity of the problem after a series of tests. Although the treatment for cerebral palsy is not the remedy, it will help the child to live and function normally to some extent.

Physiotherapy is the main treatment given for children palsy, as it will tone the muscles through exercises that induce balance and muscle power. Speech therapies help for children with speech problems to help them to communicate either through gestures or through verbal communications.

Occupational therapies help children with CP to develop their motor skills so that they become independent and do small things like tying a shoelace or even write.

Children with cerebral palsy when monitored and treated properly with therapies like physiotherapy, speech therapy can develop their motor skills, speech problems and also become independent enough to lead a normal life like other normal children.
